Mixing spirituality and religion is definitely an ancient practice. For reasons unknown, it is always much easier to accept things once they come with the force of religion. Unfortunately, comparing spirituality and religion, is similar to comparing chalk and cheese! In case you read the above quote carefully, you will see what exactly I mean. As stated above, religion is belief in someone else’s experiences. No one religion in the world, have their own basis on universal experiences. They were all founded around the experiences of somebody, who lived centuries as well as millennia ago! When nobody contested the claims, it had been slowly converted to a law lastly religion was created.
Spirituality however, is solely individual experience based. No 2 different people are exactly the same and neither are their experiences. Hence spirituality could mean various things to various people.
Till date, there isn’t any fixed definition of amil baba. But one thing is for sure. Spirituality comes from within. Structured have no choice but, explained nor manipulated.
Renowned spiritual leader and yoga guru, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, gave these explanation when asked about his opinion on spirituality:
“Spirituality does not necessarily mean any particular practice. This is a certain strategy for being. To have there, there are lots of things to do. This is as being a garden at your residence. In the event the soil, sunlight or stem of the plant is within in certain manner, it certainly can’t yield flowers, you have to do something. You have to take care of those things. If you cultivate one’s body, mind, emotions and energies to a certain amount of maturity, something more important blossoms by you – that maybe what spirituality is. Once your rationale is immature, it doubts everything. Once your rationale matures, it sees everything in an entirely different light.”
As quoted by Sadhguru, spirituality cannot be practiced. It is really an experience you are going through. Spirituality is a journey, not just a destination. There’s a major myth that believing in God or any supernatural force, makes you spiritual. This is not true in almost any sense. Because an atheist and a theist are not different. One believes there exists God, another believes there is no God. Are believing something they don’t know.
Spirituality doesn’t need you to rely on God. It will take self-belief. Belief in oneself, one’s potential and one’s being, is perhaps all that is required.
Spirituality can’t be taught. You can study Yoga and religion coming from a Guru. But spirituality is only a private experience. It’s something that can come to you personally if you align the mind, body and soul.
Another myth is basically that you have to go with a mountain top or some waterfront in order to use a spiritual experience. It can just isn’t true. Think it is such as this.
Mountains look like a good looking experience, to people that do not live in the middle of mountains. Ask people that live there, they’re going to inform you it really is nothing extraordinary! For them, the city perhaps a spiritual experience!
Spirituality is the breaking in the barrier within you. To expect coming from this shell or walls you built around you and allowing the positivity on the planet to penetrate you.
