The two Wheel Self Balancing Electric Scooter

Using the release of the newest 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 has been an exciting year for gadget fans. Worldwide, everyone is taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to create photos and videos of themselves zipping around on this 2 wheel contraption which basically appears to be a board using a wheel on either sides.


A mixture of a skateboard along with a segway, this mini Segway (with no handle) type thing is bolstering in popularity, fuelled to some extent with the level of celebrities which were seen on a single. From Justin Bieber to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand at this nifty little gadget, and seem to possess were built with a large amount of fun doing this.

Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (due to it’s likeness for the Segway, but a ‘cooler’ version) we aren’t sure entirely where this specific self balancing wheel descends from or who invented the first. More than likely it descends from some factory in China. The 1st glimpses we had of computer in the media were an item known as the IO Hawk, a scooter that costs a whopping $1800. This became back in January of 2015. Subsequently many cheaper versions of the same product have fallen out there as well as the average price currently is apparently around $500.

How does it work? Basically you ascend to the 2 panels and shift the body weight slightly forward or slightly back also it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. It can also turn right of left. This self balancing wheel is proving to be quite popular it’s actually being touted as the personal mobility device into the future. Who would like to walk when you can glide, right? Plus it’s actually a lot faster than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
