Although statistics indicate that fewer people go out to the flicks, and also those who do go rarely see each of the movies nominated to the Oscars, the broadcast of the awards is actually always has one of many largest audiences, not only in the united states, but around the world. Invariably, the show is simply too long, somewhat boring in most cases, with little theatrical value. The 2011 awards weren’t any exception.
The truth is, unlike some years, there is really little or no suspense regarding the winners. Nearly all that won any category were widely predicted, as well as the speeches were way too long. The attempt for developing a “younger hipper” pair of hosts, as well as the first co-ed pairing onstage simultaneously, did little to boost the show’s viewability. Both hosts gave the look of pleasant enough people, but seemed clumsy and sometimes uncomfortable in this setting.
The pre-Awards show, that they can refer to as the Red Carpet, was only interesting to a person who wants to gaze upon the outfits warn with the celebrities. The inane interviews predominantly asked exactly the same question about who designed the gowns, and added very little to the viewer’s experience besides a fashion show.
I was very grateful that my wife finally even had enough of the show, and “permitted” me to watch most of the second half in the N.B.A. game relating to the Miami Heat and Nyc Knicks. Fortunately, it was to get a fantastic and fairly well played game, even when in our professional sports world, it turns out to get about one teams millionaire superstars as opposed to the others. And, for any lifelong Knick fan, it turned out fun to watch the Knickerbockers drop by Miami and defeat the heralded Heat team!
Naturally, the moment the basketball game was over, I was forced to change the channel time for the 2017 Oscars, to have greater than one more hour of tedium. So, why are the Oscars so popular? After passing on some thought, I believe it’s usually because it’s the best kind of escapism, the certainty show to “end” all reality shows! Some see the show as fans in the stars, some to look at the expensive clothes worn, some to root for a lot of sort of “wardrobe malfunction,” and several to simply be capable of discuss the show of their office in the water cooler the next day.
We actually shouldn’t be surprised that the Oscars broadcast can be so popular. All things considered, reality shows such as The actual, Survivor, The Bachelor, game shows, etc., invariably turn out on top of the viewer ratings. I suppose we are able to think about the Oscars a sort of non combat sport, although in Hollywood there is certainly often lots of “contact” and definitely melodrama.
I could n’t understand why the Oscars are so popular, but it is apparently a worldwide phenomena. The glamor, or living vicariously, or hero worship, or maybe plain nothing else to perform, plays a role in make this popularity a reality!
