The cast of characters are settling looking for their new situations. They believe that nothing much ought to be happening to upset that world, yet, they are surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue results in authentically like a comedy of errors and misinformation. The idea is easy enough and simply subtle enough use a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing to be with her “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. The three in residence are missing. Ma produces a big problem regarding it. Harold Mixon, the property owner and editor emeritus from the local weekly newspaper, just recently put on the web is wanting to possess a pleasant and quiet Labor Day weekend regarding his friends at the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.).
One other main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor from the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private eye using a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo because the “reality” show director wanting to shot a pilot for a new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, like a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round classic boy, concerns town to assist in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once these folks become involved in the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With increased rumors then the facts probably warrant, the three missing girls are more plus more objects of speculation and intrigue while hardly any factual information is given. The rumors start mild because the missing girls are just searched for by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally lead up to a major “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading on the news and therefore the townspeople.
