The cast of characters are settling set for their new situations. They believe that nothing much needs to be happening to upset that world, yet, they may be surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue results in authentically like a comedy of errors and misinformation. The premise is simple enough and simply subtle enough use a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing to be with her “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. The three in residence are missing. Ma produces a big deal about this. She even would go to the area newspaper in the event the local police tend not to act upon her fears. She does appeal to the out-of-work detective, the new editor from the local newspaper and lastly town itself.
The central character is Henrietta, who was simply named after the town under consideration, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Henrietta has a lot choosing her nowadays, she gets moved to the large city, OKC, OK and landed employment together with the local t.v. station. Of course this will not help your journalistic career, it can get her in the heart of City voice and era of the afternoon. The usual players for Henryetta are Wynona Sue, Henrietta’s hairdresser mother stars inside a “reality” show, see later. Her husband, Professor LeHough, an area bug expert is bald from the surprise shaving. Rodney, Henrietta’s boyfriend, camera man buddy and overall best friend is pulled and tugged by Henrietta and her immediate boss Miss Peg. Harold Mixon, the master and editor emeritus from the local weekly newspaper, just lately put online is looking to have a very pleasant and quiet Labor Day weekend together with his friends at the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.).
The opposite main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor from the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private investigator using a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo as the “reality” show director looking to shot an airplane pilot for the new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, like a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round good old boy, comes to town to help in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once these folks try the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With additional rumors then a facts probably warrant, these missing girls become more plus more objects of speculation and intrigue while very little factual details are given. The rumors start off mild as the missing girls are only searched by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally resulted in a significant “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading within the news and so the townspeople.
