How weddings have changed in the decades! Coming from a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a fairly easy wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; 1-3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
While we’re talking about rogues, wedding speeches are still a fundamental part of a wedding and guests do anticipate hearing them, talking about them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, in the meal and after your food, yet it is of a strong opinion that the wedding speeches should be delivered following your meal. I am aware that for a lot of wedding party speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father with the groom speech (the five main speakers), they’d would rather have the wedding speeches prior to the meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are paying for it!). However, is going on the invited guests and the way many of them (and indeed the marriage venue staff) would choose the wedding speeches to get delivered following the meal for a lot of reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests have been fed and watered and are not playing wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which may be ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival in the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches prior to meal and their can be quite a delay of Quarter-hour to at least one.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches become the transition in the meal to the dancing (broke happening following the meal, everyone is expecting ‘a few words’ being shared regarding the Bride & Groom after which it they know they can get out of bed, move about, have a break, go for a walk, visit the bar…)
It’s not easy for folks of the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public, the majority of them wouldn’t be used of computer. So, they might, when they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.
There should still be some kind of formal speech(es) following your meal…
