SA-1 cylinder shape burrs are great for interior contour work and deburring. Due to the extreme hardness on this tungsten carbide, it can be used on far more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are constructed of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and may begin to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best option for long-term performance.
Double cut or Cross cut carbide burrs tend to be utilized on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft steel, and also for all non-metal materials for example stone, plastics, hard wood, and ceramic. Double cut burrs leaves a rather smoother finish than single cut on account of producing smaller chips as they cut away the material. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning. A double-cut carbide burr is easily the most popular cut and may look at you through most applications.
Cut – Double Cut
Max RPM – 70,000, yet it’s uncommon to wish over 35,000 RPM.
Machines Suited for:
Die Grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders
Application:
Ferrous Materials – Surefire, Steel, Stainless, Steel, Titanium, Nickel, Wrought Iron
Non-Ferrous Materials – Copper
Many other materials – Fiberglass, Plastic, Hard Rubber, Wood, Stone
Cylinder Shape burrs are great for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling.
Safety Tips & Techniques:
Tool speed is determined from the material you’re using your burr on. If you’re experiencing chipping, you are most probably operating at excessive of speed for that application. Start having a slower speed and increase as you go along until you reach the ideal results
Apply light pressure and allow tool perform work. Bearing down on the tool can lead to reduced tool life plus a dull burr.
Always wear proper PPE to incorporate (although not tied to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and baseball gloves. Keep all guards set up in your machine.
Avoid use on electricity drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.
