Lithium ion batteries have a lot of advantages over other types of batteries, including:
Higher than normal energy density. Lithium ion batteries store more energy than other types of batteries for the same sized battery, allowing for ultra-high power densities far exceeding current lithium-ion technology.
Excellent charge efficiency. Because of the smart charging algorithm implemented with the BMS, lithium-ion batteries lose less energy during the charge/discharge cycle than other battery types (Battery Management System). Many of the useful when a lot of your energy are being stored (like EVs and solar power storage).
Extremely high discharge power. High power battery packs rich in power cells provide high turn on demand to power electric vehicles (EV) and renewable energy storage systems.
Reduced self-discharge. Although low self-discharge NiMH batteries can be purchased, lithium-ion batteries are obviously low self-discharge.
Extremely high cell voltage. Because of this fewer cells in a series string are needed to develop a given voltage that will easily power devices.
Extremely safe and thermally stable. Intelligent BMS is important to lithium battery performance; it serves as the battery’s brain, to blame for advanced monitoring and management for the utmost safety, performance, charge rates, and long lifespan.
It’s sleek. Lithium ion batteries are significantly lighter than other chemistries for any given size and amount of energy storage (including Lead acid battery). This is especially useful for applications such as EVs or small portable devices.
