How weddings have changed on the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one to three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Talking about the latter, wedding speeches are nevertheless a fundamental part of a marriage and guests do look forward to hearing them, speaking about them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered before the meal, in the meal and after your food, yet it’s of a strong opinion that the wedding speeches should be delivered following the meal. I realize that for most wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father in the Bride Speech, Father of the father of the groom speech (the five main speakers), they’d would rather hold the wedding speeches before the meal, for them to enjoy their meal (a number of them are paying for it!). However, is going on the invited guests and the way many (and even wedding ceremony venue staff) would choose the wedding ceremony speeches to become delivered following the meal for a lot of reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests are already fed and watered and are not paying attention to wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which will be the case ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival on the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches ahead of the meal along with their might be a delay of 15 minutes to a single.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches behave as the transition through the meal towards the dancing (with nothing happening after the meal, everyone is expecting ‘a few words’ to get shared regarding the Bride & Groom after which it they know they are able to get up, move, come out, take a stroll, go to the bar…)
It can be difficult for fogeys with the Bride & Groom to speak in public areas, as most of them wouldn’t be used of it. So, they can, whenever they so wished, speak before the / their meal.
There should be some kind of formal speech(es) following the meal…
