With all the launch of the brand new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 continues to be an exilerating year for gadget fans. Around the globe, people are taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to post pics and vids of themselves zipping around with this 2 wheel contraption which basically seems like a board which has a wheel on both sides.

A cross between a skateboard as well as a segway, this mini Segway (with no handle) type thing is bolstering in popularity, fuelled partly from the amount of celebrities which have been seen one. From Bieber assault to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand as of this nifty little gadget, and seem to have had a lot of fun this.

Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (as a consequence of it’s likeness towards the Segway, but a ‘cooler’ version) we aren’t sure entirely where this kind of smart electric scooter comes from or who invented the first. Most likely it comes from some factory in China. The first glimpses we saw from it in the media were an item called the IO Hawk, a scooter that will set you back an impressive $1800. This became back January of 2015. Subsequently many cheaper versions of the same product attended on the market and the average price currently looks like it’s around $500.

So how exactly does it work? Basically you ascend to the two panels and shift one’s body weight slightly forward or slightly back and yes it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. Additionally, it may turn right of left. This smart electric scooter is turning out to be very popular is in reality being touted since the personal mobility device for the future. Who would like to walk when it’s possible to glide, right? Plus it’s a lot faster than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
