An evaluation Of Video Editing Software

Posted by

Hi there! Are you currently a novice to video editing? If you are, you are probably confused by the wide array of video editing applications available out there.

While i commenced in video editing, nobody gave me a proper comparison of video editing applications. And so i experimented on my own.

I tried using Microsoft Movie Maker and other free applicaion. Over time, while i gained confidence inside the editing process, I moved on to commercial software like Adobe Premiere and Corel VideoStudio.

In this article, I would like to offer you a comparison in the better video editing programs out there getting more creative together with your productions.

1. Beginner Level

Let’s move on through the basics. If you are a beginner and still have dirty much video editing, You need to that you just commence with a free video editing package like Microsoft Movie Maker. This allows you to view the video timeline, splitting, cutting and the ways to add basic effects into the production.

When you’ve some basic knowledge, get a good beginner video editor like MovAVI. I use MovAVI a great deal nowadays to quickly edit and burn / upload my videos to YouTube.

MovAVI automates almost all of the post-production process for me personally. I recently import my video, decide on a default theme as well as the software does the rest. This protects me a lot of time, in particular when I’ve got a a lot of extra say, vacation videos where I’m too lazy to complete in-depth editing.

2. Intermediate Level

OK, trying the intermediate level software. These programs have basic video editing features for beginners but additionally contain advanced functionalities in case you want to be more creative.

Within this category, my personal preference is Corel VideoStudio. I’ve used its competitor goods like Adobe Premiere Elements and Pinnacle Studio before, on the other hand still come back to VideoStudio as a result of rich set of templates it has and the intuitive application interface.

Corel VideoStudio lets me do stuff like chroma key (removing green screens from the video so I can overlay another background), add titles, transactions and manipulate audio. Also i prefer that I could export my video in the huge variety of formats, including uploading them online to YouTube seamlessly. This is the software I prefer frequently for editing selected video projects where I would like an easy basic workflow but involve some room for creative work.

Advanced Level

There are more advanced level video editing software programs like Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas and Final Cut Pro. Because i do as their features (which are industrial-grade features employed by film makers) – I find them overly expensive. Something like the full Adobe Premiere suite will easily set you back by almost $1000. That’s not me paying that much money for a video application unless I’m accomplishing this full-time.

For hobbyists, I recommend using intermediate level software. The advanced features in pro-level packages like Adobe Premiere are generally rarely used. After you have done many video projects and want to go pro, then these packages be the better choice.

4. Online Applications

OK, thus far we’ve done comparison of desktop video editing software. However you should know about there’s also other picture editing applications showing up throughout the shop.

The one that particularly caught my attention is Animoto, which is a great online application.

This can be a solid, intuitive picture editor which enables you to just upload your work and employ a series of automatic edits and effects. Again, very beneficial stuff for the people requiring an instant workflow without a large amount of fuss.
