Most people have seen the commercials: a pleasant family gathers together in a sunny kitchen to relish a fresh-baked chicken dinner. The scene is idyllic. The smiles, laughter, and excellent place settings produce the impression that the companies behind these ads value general well-being and happiness. But because many secretly- filmed documentaries demonstrate, the horrors gone through by the birds
